As a composer whose “unique” art is “marked by a tireless pursuit of excellence…and a fascination with beauty” (Professor Nicholas Roth, Drake University), Quentin has created a vivid world of fantasy, drama and intimacy, led by his belief in aestheticism over intellectualism, taste over trend, and the perpetual modernity of the tonal musical language since Bach over atonal modernism of the twentieth century, committing himself to refining harmonic and contrapuntal intricacies, the way to Supreme Beauty in music.  His compositions have been praised and favored by the public and professional musicians alike for their “expressive, sensitive and poetic” quality, as in the words of pianist Vassily Primakov, and the American Record Guide called them “worthy of repeated hearings.” 

His music has been heard to acclaim at venues worldwide, at Alice Tully Hall and Society for Ethical Culture in New York City, Cajastur Cultural Center in Gijón, Spain, National Theatre of Costa Rica, Heredia Theatre in Colombia, Palace of Fine Arts in The Dominican Republic, as well as at the Concerts at the Crossroads series in Cleveland.  Quentin has also received an Honorable Mention for his At the Deathbed for two violins, viola, and violoncello from the 2009 Washington International Competition for Composers.

김 씨의 작품들은 뉴욕의 알리스 툴리 음악당과 윤리문화 회관, 스페인 히혼의 카하스투르 문화회관, 코스타 리카의 국립극장, 콜롬비아의 헤레디아 극장, 도미니카 민국의 예술궁전, 또 미국 클리블란드 십자로 연주회 시리즈 등 세계 각국에서 호평을 받으며 공연되었으며, 그의 작품을 연주한 음악단과 예술가들은 알리안자 현악 사중주단, 바이올리니스트 왕 경 (王 敬), 피아니스트 나탄 카터렛, 아키미 후쿠하라, 마르코 파블로비츠, 바씰리 프리마코프, 소프라노 자넷 베끼오네, 테너 벤 소슬란드, 바리톤 데이비드 맥훼린, 그리고 지휘자 빈스 리와 김 성진 씨를 포함한다.
